Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of Utah County is seeking a Youth Development Professional (YDP) for the Heber Valley Elementary afterschool program. The role focuses on building positive relationships with youth and providing a safe, engaging environment where young people can learn and thrive.

The position is part-time (approximately 20–25 hours per week) with afternoon hours during the school year, and summer opportunities may be available in select areas.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience working with youth ages 5–18 is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Build positive relationships with youth through mentorship and engagement.
• Create a safe, supportive environment for all participants.
• Lead and participate in games, sports, recreation, and enrichment activities.
• Facilitate engaging lessons and group activities.
• Support youth social-emotional growth and development.
• Encourage inclusion, teamwork, respect, and positive behavior.
• Assist with attendance tracking, surveys, and program documentation.
• Maintain organized program spaces and materials.
• Work collaboratively with fellow staff to create a high-quality program experience.
