Job summary

The University of Pennsylvania is seeking a UACS Group Leader to provide high-quality afterschool/OST enrichment in STEM, arts, literacy and career exploration for K-8 and high school students in West Philadelphia. You will collaborate with Penn staff, SDP Teacher-Partners, and community partners to deliver engaging, safe programs.

Requirements include a high school diploma (college degree preferred) and 3+ years’ experience with youth.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma required, College degree preferred in early childhood education, education or social service fields.
• Experience: minimum of 3 years work experience with elementary-aged children and/or high school youth development programming.
• Ability to engage youth in a variety of activities.
• Knowledge of grade-level content, activities and curricula for students.
• Completion and passing of background checks and required clearances such as PATCH, PA Child Abuse, FBI, NSOR, Mandated Reporter, and Act 168.

Responsibilities

• Be positive, physically engaged, high energy and fun.
• Work collaboratively as a part of a team.
• Use trauma-informed care practices.
• Ensure that students are safe at all times and reinforce safety precautions.
• Plan and implement enrichment activities with staff and students.
• Attend Netter UACS training and meetings.
• Take attendance and manage required paperwork.
