Job summary

YMCA of Thousand Oaks is seeking a dedicated caregiver for a lead role in our high-quality child development program. You will supervise a group of children, implement curriculum, and partner with families to deliver activities aligned with our core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility.

This role requires adherence to safety policies, observation of each child, and active engagement with parents and volunteers.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates initiative to plan, lead and participate in activities.
• Ability to follow policies for medical, disciplinary situations and emergencies.
• Maintains effective communication with parents and engages volunteers.

Responsibilities

• Implements curriculum and program activities within established guidelines.
• Nurtures children through purposeful programming focused on achievement and belonging.
• Supervises the children and site activities including ADA accommodations where appropriate.
• Follows all policies and procedures including child abuse prevention and emergencies.
• Observes and evaluates each child regularly.
• Cultivates positive relationships with parents and connects them to the YMCA.
• Maintains program site and equipment and required records.
• Attends trainings and staff meetings.
