Job summary

Qualifications

• Must have completed at least six postsecondary ECE units or hold a valid California Child Development Assistant permit.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Knowledge of acceptable child care and day camp practices.
• All required online training must be completed before starting work.
• Mandated reporting training completed within 30 days of hire.
• CPR & First Aid certifications current with a nationally recognized organization.
• Health and TB clearance required.
• TDAP, MMR and Influenza vaccinations up to date.
• Criminal records clearance.

Responsibilities

• Implements curriculum and activities within established guidelines.
• Nurtures children through purposeful programming to build achievement and belonging.
• Supervises the classroom/site and all activities, including ADA accommodations where appropriate.
• Follows policies on medical, disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention and emergencies.
• Continuously observes and evaluates each child.
• Maintains positive relationships and communicates with parents; recruits volunteers.
• Maintains program site, equipment and required records.
• Attends staff meetings, trainings and online trainings; participates in family nights.
