Job summary

Thousand Oaks Family YMCA in Thousand Oaks, CA is seeking a Childwatch Attendant to supervise infants and children up to 12 years old in our childcare programs. You will greet families, lead activities, ensure safety, and model positive behavior.

The role requires energy, reliability, and the ability to communicate policies clearly. Training includes CPR/First Aid/AED; occasional after-hours events may be required.

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years of age with at least 6 months of childcare experience.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• CPR, First Aid and AED certifications required within first 60 days of hire.
• Ability to promote caring, honesty, respect and responsibility with staff, members and participants.
• Ability to build positive relationships with people from diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Greet parents and children and communicate ChildWatch/Kids Club policies and guidelines.
• Changes diapers as needed and assists with daily care.
• Implements a weekly program including theme, games, stories, crafts, circle times and events.
• Supervises children during large and small group activities in a safe, age-appropriate manner.
• Maintains safety and reports unsafe conditions to supervision promptly.
• Completes attendance and incident reports and other required forms.
• May work hours outside normal schedule for meetings, trainings or events.
• Upholds program policies and serves as a positive role model.
