Job summary

Queen Creek Unified School District is seeking a part-time Community Education/Before/After School Assistant to supervise children in the before/after school program and during school breaks. The role supports the school site leader and reports to the Community Education Director.

The position is 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday 2:30 pm–6:30 pm, for 180 days/9 months per year, with compensation per QCUSD salary schedule and benefits outlined by district policy.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience as a teacher/caregiver aide for 12 months; OR volunteer in a child care facility for 12 months or enrollment in a vocational training program.
• Must pass a background clearance.
• Must obtain an Arizona IVP Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card
• Excellent attendance record.
• CPR/First Aid certified.
• Enjoys working with children.

Responsibilities

• Support QCUSD Vision, Mission and Goals.
• Monitors and assists children to ensure children's safety in the before/after care setting.
• Maintains an environment in accordance with licensing requirements.
• Team player and able to work with peers.
• Able to work with children of various ages.
• Sets up rooms for activities and cleans up after activities.
• Attends required staff meetings and trainings as directed.
• Interacts positively with parents/guardians.
• Performs other duties as assigned to advance district priorities.
