Job summary

Porter-Gaud School is seeking energetic, responsible Extended Day Helpers for the after-school Extended Day Program. The part-time role runs 2:30pm–6:00pm, Monday through Friday, helping supervise 50+ students, assist with homework, organize activities, and ensure a safe, supportive environment.

Responsibilities include snack prep, attendance tracking, bus/dismissal coordination, and maintaining order during indoor/outdoor activities while prioritizing student well-being and proper conduct.

Qualifications

• Experience working with school-age children is preferred.
• Ability to support students with homework and activities in a structured after-school setting.

Responsibilities

• Set up snacks and materials for 50+ students.
• Assist with classroom supplies, First Aid kit preparation, and cleanup.
• Help students with homework while maintaining a quiet study environment.
• Supervise recess and supervise activities indoors (games, crafts).
• Check students in/out and ensure they are signed in the proper sheets.
• Escort students to after-school programming and bus lines as needed.
• Maintain student safety and report behavioral concerns to staff.
• Collaborate with Auxiliary staff to ensure smooth after-school operations.
