Nia Community Services Network Inc. is seeking a part-time program assistant to support a supervised youth program at PS/IS 95 in Brooklyn, NY.

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • At least 2 years of direct experience working with children.
  • Associate’s degree preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide attentive care and supervision to assigned group of students.
  • Lead group through daily procedures including arrival, snack, transitions, activities, and dismissal.
  • Develop understanding of COMPASS models and positive youth development approaches.
  • Ensure participants are supervised according to licensor regulations.
  • Take student attendance and account for all students.
  • Assist with activity facilitation per approved lesson plans.
  • Support participants with learning and behavioral needs.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, youth workers and other staff.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety of classroom/space throughout program.
