Job summary

NIA is seeking a Part Time Group Leader to supervise an assigned group of participants in a school-based after-school setting at the Brooklyn site. You will provide attentive care, lead activities, and ensure safety and supervision according to licensor regulations.

You will work with Activity Specialists, Teachers, and Youth Workers, complete attendance, support learners with individual needs, and help maintain a positive, organized environment.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older with at least 2 years of direct experience with children.
• Associate's degree preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required.
• College coursework in education, youth development, or related field is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide attentive care and supervision to the assigned group of students.
• Lead group through daily procedures, including arrival, snack, transitions, activities, and dismissal.
• Develop understanding of COMPASS models and positive youth development approaches.
• Ensure participants are supervised according to licensor regulations at all times.
• Take student attendance and account for all assigned students during program time.
• Assist with activity facilitation and support participants with individual learning needs.
