Job summary

NIA Community Services Network, Inc. is seeking Group Leaders to supervise an assigned group of students in a school-based after-school setting. You will lead groups through daily procedures, facilitate activities, monitor attendance, and ensure safety and proper supervision at all times.

The role requires communication, professionalism, and collaboration with teachers and other staff. Availability Monday to Friday afternoons, 2:30pm–5pm, with minor location variations noted, and a preference

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older
• At least 2 years of direct experience working with children
• College coursework in education, youth development, or related field are a plus
• Must be available Monday-Friday afternoons, 2:30pm–5pm (schedule may vary by location)

Responsibilities

• Provide attentive care and supervision to assigned group of students.
• Lead group through daily procedures: arrival, snack, transitions, activities, and dismissal.
• Understand COMPASS models and approaches to positive youth development.
• Ensure proper supervision according to licensor regulations at all times.
• Take attendance and keep track of all assigned students.
• Assist with activity facilitation and support participants with learning and behavioral needs.
• Collaborate with Activity Specialists, Teachers, and Youth Workers.
• Keep classroom and space clean; leave spaces as found; use supplied materials only.
• Maintain professional demeanor and adhere to organization behavioral guidelines.
• Complete required Mental Health training and participate in inclusion efforts.
• Ensure safety procedures, drills, and DOH/licensing requirements are followed.
• Respond to on-site injuries or medical emergencies per plan.
• Contribute to a welcoming, respectful community for children and families.
• Engage in ongoing professional development and be flexible to meet organizational goals.
