Job summary

Arete Education is seeking a Group Leader for PS 65, part-time, on-site in the Bronx. You will supervise after-school programming and Summer Rising, supporting students, families, and school staff in a safe, engaging environment.

The role requires strong communication, reliability, and collaboration with teachers and administrators; training and clearances are mandatory, with a focus on student well-being and safe operations.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma required; college degree preferred.
  • MANDATED ReporterTraining: Sexual Harassment & Foundations in Health and Safety (8 hours) required.
  • DoE PETS background clearance is required.
  • Internship/experience with Arete Education preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Regular attendance for assigned weekly shifts during school days.
  • Timely arrival to work.
  • Lead orderly, safe arrival and dismissal procedures.
  • Support school staff to create safe learning environments.
  • Establish safe hallways with staff support.
  • Demonstrate commitment to excellence in work with students and families.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and supervisors.
  • Participate in professional learning opportunities.
  • Reflect on strengths and areas for growth to improve performance.
  • Maintain friendly, open communication with families.
  • Communicate with supervisors and Arete HQ via email/phone.
  • Be flexible with weekly scheduling.
