Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Boston is seeking an Afterschool Group Leader for the North Suburban YMCA in Burlington. The role plans and implements curriculum, assists with homework, communicates with families, and maintains a safe, engaging environment for school-age children.

Qualifications include a degree or equivalent with varying experience, or a high school diploma with relevant hours. This is a part-time position with a value-driven program in a community-focused YMCA setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate's degree and three months of experience with school age children.
• High school diploma or equivalent and six months of experience with school age children including three months supervised.
• Nine months of experience with school age children including three months supervised.
• Experience counted: minimum 12 hours per week or if less than 12 hours a week, every block of 50 hours counts for one month.

Responsibilities

• Group/Program curricula that provide growth in cognitive skills, self-awareness, group relationships, and character development.
• Ensure adherence to EEC licensing standards and perpetuate an inclusive culture.
• Communicate information to parents.
• Maintain a program environment that is safe, healthy, and engaging.
• Provide a developmentally sound program for children to grow, learn and develop to their full potential.
• Meet community needs in a manner consistent with the YMCA mission.

Education
