Job summary

KEARNY PUBLIC SCHOOLS seeks an Afternoon Credit Recovery Facilitator to oversee students enrolled in the Credit Recovery program, blending in-person instruction with digital coursework via Edgenuity and other platforms.

The role supports students who are credit-deficient, providing supervision, academic assistance, and motivation to help them stay on track for graduation. Internal applicants only, semester sessions in late afternoon.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma Required
• Associate's or bachelor's degree in education or a related field preferred
• Experience with school settings, tutoring, or Edgenuity is preferred
• Strong organizational and communication skills with students, parents and staff
• Ability to motivate and support students in credit recovery
• Proficiency with technology and online learning platforms
• Experience managing student behavior in a classroom setting

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assist students completing coursework on Edgenuity and other platforms, ensuring they stay on pace to recover credits
• Provide instructional support and clarification on assignments when needed
• Maintain a structured classroom environment conducive to independent learning and academic success
• Track student progress and attendance, ensuring seat time and digital learning hours requirements are met
• Communicate regularly with teachers, counselors, and administrators to identify student needs and adjust interventions
• Provide motivational support and academic coaching to encourage coursework completion
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and report updates to parents and school leadership
• Ensure compliance with school policies and guidelines related to credit recovery
