Job summary

YMCA of Metropolitan Atlanta seeks an Afterschool Site Counselor to lead elementary-age activities and support learning goals under Bright from the Start and YMCA guidance.

The role requires 18+, a HS diploma or higher, and experience with school-age children. You will use Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Classroom, and Zoom, while maintaining records and coordinating with the Site Director.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• Must possess a minimum credential that meets BFTS requirement and HS Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with school-age children in a group setting or licensed setting preferred.
• CPR/First Aid training or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
• Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, Google Classroom, and Zoom.
• Must pass background checks including GCIC/NCIC and fingerprint as required.

Responsibilities

• Lead assigned group in planned activities to support program goals.
• Create an environment with activities to support program goals.
• Deliver program in compliance with YMCA and Bright From the Start policies.
• Coordinate with Site Director on concerns and planning.
• Assist students with virtual learning assignments as required by school district.
• Attend trainings and document annual trainings hours.
• Maintain attendance records and program information as needed.
