Job summary

The YMCA of Metropolitan Atlanta seeks a Site Counselor for the Covington Family YMCA after-school program. You will lead elementary-age activities aligned with school goals and YMCA standards.

Required CPR/First Aid training or ability to obtain within 30 days, HS diploma or equivalent, and BFTS credential. Strong communication and MS Office/Google Classroom/Zoom skills are essential for daily operations.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Must have HS diploma or equivalent; BFTS credential requirement.
• Experience with school-age children in group settings preferred.
• CPR/First Aid training or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and online platforms (Google Classroom, Zoom).
• Must pass background checks (GCIC/NCIC) and fingerprint checks.

Responsibilities

• Operate the program per Bright From the Start (BFTS) and YMCA policies.
• Create a safe, engaging environment with planned activities.
• Maintain records and attendance as required by the program.
• Coordinate supplies with the Site Director and attend trainings.
• Support students with virtual learning assignments as needed.
• Communicate concerns to the Site Director and participate in program planning.
