Job summary

City of Santa Fe Springs is seeking an organized supervisor to oversee after-school recreation programs for children ages 5–12 and youth 11–13 at assigned sites. The role includes planning activities, supervising Activity Leaders, maintaining records, and communicating with parents.

Requirements include high school diploma with childcare training, 3+ years in a regulated program, supervisory experience, Red Cross First Aid and CPR, and a Virginia driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent with childcare training
• Three (3) or more years of programmatic experience in a regulated program with children 5–12 and/or youth 11–13, including at least one year in a supervisory role
• Knowledge of safety, supervision, and child development best practices
• Ability to plan, organize, and lead activities and communicate with parents

Responsibilities

• Plan and actively participate in recreational activities with children and youth
• Supervise Activity Leaders and ensure safety and orderly conduct
• Maintain required records and handle fees and deposits
• Communicate with parents about behavior and program updates
• Ensure proper rest periods and age-appropriate supervision
