Job summary

The City of Milpitas Recreation and Community Services Department seeks Recreation Leaders to engage K-6 students in after-school activities, games, and homework support at various elementary sites.

Ideal candidates will be enthusiastic problem-solvers with strong communication skills, able to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and work both independently off-site and with colleagues in compliance with city rules.

Qualifications

• Experience working with school-age children (5-12) preferred.
• Must be able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently off-site and with others.

Responsibilities

• Lead games and activities for kindergarten through 6th grade students at elementary sites.
• Coordinate and implement daily activities for After the Bell and LYFE programs.
• Supervise students and provide verbal and written feedback on activities.
• Follow established rules, guidelines, and time limits for activities.
• Work with Recreation staff to support events and programs as needed.
