Sylvania seeks an afternoon custodian for Dexter High School to uphold cleanliness and safety standards. Duties include daily cleaning tasks inside and outside, working Mon-Fri from 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM, and ensuring a clean, hygienic, organized environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as bending, lifting, and overhead work.
• Reliable transportation as travel within the district is required throughout the day.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning duties in various areas such as rooms, hallways, lobbies, restrooms, and corridors as assigned.
• Sweep, mop, scrub, and vacuum hallways, stairs, and office spaces.
• Polish and wax floors, as well as clean and extract rugs and carpets.
• Dust furniture and equipment.
• Empty trash containers and dispose of waste.
• Wash windows, door panels, sills, and other general areas.
• Replenish restroom supplies and maintain cleanliness.
• Refill cleaning and general supplies in classrooms or rooms upon request.
• Conduct minor repairs and maintenance tasks within the building.
• Report major repair needs to management.
• Clear snow and debris from sidewalks and designated areas, and salt icy surfaces.
• Arrange tables and chairs in auditoriums, rooms, or halls as needed.
• Address minor cleanups or accidents promptly.
• Follow established safety protocols and procedures.
• Assists in other areas as directed by building principal or supervisor.
