Qualifications

• Valid Florida Professional or Temporary Teaching Certificate with Reading certification or Elementary Education certification.
• Bachelor's degree in Education or related field.
• 1–2 years classroom teaching experience preferred.
• Experience teaching elementary-aged students.
• Knowledge of Florida B.E.S.T. Standards and evidence-based literacy instruction.
• Strong classroom management and student engagement skills.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to use student assessment data to guide instruction.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a professional learning team.
• Background screening completed (Level II).
• Completion of required DCF Child Care Training (or willingness to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging project-based reading instruction aligned with Florida's B.E.S.T. Standards.
• Facilitate small-group and whole-group literacy instruction for diverse learners.
• Differentiate instruction to meet individual academic needs.
• Integrate reading, writing, vocabulary, comprehension, and critical thinking.
• Foster a positive classroom culture encouraging curiosity, collaboration, and active participation.
• Utilize hands-on learning experiences to promote growth.
• Administer and monitor assessments as directed.
• Analyze data to inform instructional planning and intervention strategies.
• Maintain records of student progress and performance.
• Collaborate with the Instructional Coach to adjust instruction based on data.
