Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking an Afterhours Registered Nurse to deliver comprehensive hospice care to patients and families after regular business hours, including nights and weekends.

The role focuses on triaging needs by phone, urgent crisis response, and afterhours in-home visits, with a strong emphasis on timely evaluation and compassionate care within a patient-centered approach.

Qualifications

• Current unrestricted RN licensure in the state of practice.
• Current driver's license, valid vehicle insurance, and access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation.

Responsibilities

• Triage patient needs over the phone until a nurse can provide an in-person visit.
• Respond to crisis calls from patients and families after hours with urgency.
• Perform initial nursing evaluation to determine hospice eligibility within 48 hours of referral.
• Conduct afterhours visits including admissions, death, recertification, and routine visits.
