Job summary

UnitedHealth Group seeks an Afterhours Registered Nurse to deliver comprehensive hospice care for patients and families after hours, including nights and weekends. The role requires triage by phone, urgent crisis response, and timely in-person assessments for hospice eligibility within 48 hours of referral.

Responsibilities include afterhours visits (admissions, death visits, recertifications, routine visits) and documenting patient/family needs and outcomes. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Current unrestricted RN licensure in the state of practice.
• Current driver's license, valid vehicle insurance, and access to a dependable vehicle.
• Preferred CPR certification or ability to complete within 90 days of hire.
• 1+ years of clinical experience.

Responsibilities

• Triage patient needs over the phone until a nurse can visit in person.
• Respond to crisis calls after hours with urgency.
• Initial nursing evaluation to determine hospice eligibility within 48 hours of referral.
• Perform afterhours visits including admissions, death, recertification, and routine visits.
• Document patient/family needs, goals, interventions and responses.
