Job summary

YMCA in Oklahoma City seeks a Jr./Program staff to supervise a safe childcare program and participate in group activities for 10-15 children. Morning and afternoon shifts are available. You will lead games, ensure safety, and sign in/out daily, with snacks provided following USDA/HEPA guidelines.

Required CPR/AED/First Aid, willingness to complete Redwoods trainings within 30 days, and a HS diploma or GED (16-17 for Jr. program staff). The role supports the YMCA philosophy and mission.

Qualifications

  • CPR/AED/First Aid certification required, renewed annually.
  • Interest in and like children, YMCA philosophy support.
  • Redwoods trainings within 30 days of hire and renewal annually.
  • Must be 18+ with HS diploma or GED. Jr. Program staff may be 16-17.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise a safe, well-organized childcare program.
  • Plan and participate in group activities for 10-15 children.
  • Lead games and activities per program curriculum.
  • Ensure safety and well-being of all children.
  • Take attendance; sign-in/out daily.
  • Distribute USDA/HEPA approved snacks/meals.
  • Report injuries to site coordinator or director.
  • Attend staff meetings and trainings.
  • Display YMCA values (Honesty, caring, respect, responsibilities).
  • Build relationships with members, donors, and volunteers.
