Job summary

The YMCA in Edmond, Oklahoma is seeking Jr./Program staff to assist with supervising a safe childcare program. You will plan activities, monitor a group of children, and help with meals and snacks, with training provided.

Ideal candidates are 16-17 for Jr. positions or 18+ for full staff, and must maintain CPR/First Aid certification. This role may require outside hours and includes attendance at trainings to support YMCA values.

Qualifications

• Must stay current in CPR/AED/First Aid, renewed annually.
• Must have an interest in and like children and support YMCA philosophy.
• Must complete all required Redwoods trainings within 30 days of hire and renew annually.

Responsibilities

• Establish a positive relationship with program participants.
• Implement weekly activities for a group of 10-15 children.
• Lead games and activities provided through program curriculum.
• Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children.
• Know where all group members are at all times.
• Take daily attendance and ensure signing in/out by a responsible party.
• Actively engage children and participants in activities.
• Prepare and distribute USDA and HEPA approved snacks/meals.
