Job summary

Boys and Girls Clubs of San Leandro is seeking a Youth Development Professional – Elementary to support after-school programming at a school-based site. You will supervise students, lead engaging activities, and foster a safe, inclusive environment that promotes academic success and social-emotional growth.

This entry-level, on-site role offers part-time hours (Mon-Fri 1:00–6:00 PM PT) with pay ranging from $20 to $25 per hour.

Qualifications

No prior experience required; entry-level position.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
High emotional intelligence and integrity.
Ability to connect with a diverse group of youth.
Ability to independently supervise a group of youth.
Patience and ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

Engaging supervision in a safe, structured after-school setting.
Lead engaging activities promoting learning, creativity, and social development.
Deliver curriculum-based activities and adapt for different ages.
Create a positive learning environment with clear expectations and routines.
Build positive relationships and mentor youth.
Oversee daily operations including transitions, meals, and lessons.
Collaborate with team to improve activities and meet program goals.
Be flexible and support at different sites as needed.
