Boys and Girls Clubs of San Leandro is seeking a Youth Development Professional – Elementary (YDP-E) for a part-time, on-site role at Searles Elementary School. You will supervise, mentor, and run engaging after-school activities to support academic success and social-emotional growth in middle school youth.

The position follows the school-year calendar with hours 1:00–6:00 PM, Monday–Friday, and may include Summer Camp work based on needs.

Formación

• No prior youth-work experience required (entry-level).
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• High emotional intelligence and integrity.
• Ability to connect authentically with a diverse group of youth.
• Ability to independently supervise a group of youth.
• Patience and the ability to work under pressure in emotionally charged situations.

Responsabilidades

• Engage youth with safe, structured, and welcoming supervision.
• Lead engaging after-school activities promoting learning, creativity, and social development.
• Deliver curriculum-based activities and adapt lessons for elementary students.
• Establish expectations, routines, and behavior management for a positive learning environment.
• Mentor youth, foster relationships, and recognize individual strengths.
• Oversee transitions, meals, and lessons to ensure smooth program flow.
• Collaborate with teammates to improve activities and meet program goals.
• Be flexible and assist at different sites as needed.
