Job summary

Volunteers of America, Dakotas is seeking a Youth Mentor & Activity Specialist to supervise middle school students after school and create a safe, engaging environment. You will lead at least 11 monthly activities, help with transportation to off-site events, and maintain clean, supportive spaces.

This role emphasizes positive role modeling and communication with students and families. The position operates Monday–Friday afterschool hours with potential for additional trainings and involvement

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or state education requirements required.
• Previous experience working with youth preferred, but not required.
• Ability to build relationships with students; ability to communicate clearly and positively.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Supervise middle school students in a safe and enriching environment.
• Plan and facilitate at least 11 activities per month as assigned by the Middle School Youth Program Coordinator.
• Provide safe transportation to off-site activities and field trips.
• Keep afterschool spaces clean and organized; assist with personal hygiene.
• Report incidents and assist with forms; support students per organization policies.
