Job summary

YMCA of Greater Houston is seeking a part-time program assistant to implement enrichment curricula for before/after school and day camp participants. You will help provide a quality experience that supports youth development and reflects the YMCA values of honesty, respect, responsibility, caring, and faith.

As a leader, you will supervise children, assist with activity setup and cleanup, and maintain safe, welcoming classrooms.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• CPR, First Aid and AED certifications required.
• TB examination or immunization as required by health authorities.
• Experience in an enrichment setting preferred.
• Ability to plan, organize and implement age-appropriate activities.
• Experience working with diverse populations.

Responsibilities

• Implements enrichment lesson/activity plans for children in center and outdoors.
• Supervises children and models YMCA core values.
• Assists with setup and cleanup of activities and adheres to standards.
• Maintains positive relations with children, parents and staff.
• Follows abuse reporting and safety policies.
