Job summary

Imogen Roche Foundation, Inc. seeks a part-time teacher to lead engaging visual storytelling workshops after school with elementary students. Participants collaborate to create original stop-motion short films, from brainstorming to post-production, in weekly sessions.

Instructors will guide creativity, structure lessons, and manage groups during activities, transitions, and events, providing constructive feedback and maintaining a supportive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Subject-matter expertise in a field consistent with the subject taught.
• Patient, kind and friendly demeanor.
• Strong leadership and ability to manage both adults and children.
• Able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with creativity.
• Ability to take initiative and use tact and diplomacy.

Responsibilities

• Implements course curriculum, and assists with its development.
• Works with teaching assistant to create lesson plans in accordance with course curriculum.
• Requests supplies from Site Supervisor well in advance of class sessions.
• Leads classes with school-age children.
• Supervises children during transitions.
• Supervises teaching assistants.
• Communicates regularly with Site Supervisor and/or Director about student progress.
• Plans, coordinates, and oversees culminating events at the end of each cycle.
