Job summary

PATH is seeking an After School Program Tutor for our SHS Team in Long Beach, California. This part-time, non-exempt role requires driving and a schedule of Monday–Friday 2:30pm–6:30pm with some Saturdays.

You will support elementary students with homework, enrichment activities and field trips, ensuring a safe, engaging learning environment. Qualifications include at least 1 year of experience (or equivalent), ability to obtain CPR/First Aid, TB test, background and drug screenings.

Qualifications

• One (1) year of professional experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience
• Employment eligibility verification required
• CPR/First Aid training required or able to obtain
• Tuberculosis Test
• Background Screening
• Drug Test

Responsibilities

• Facilitate activities with a group of up to twenty students.
• Assist students with homework, academic enrichment, recreation, and arts-based programming.
• Supervise participants to ensure a safe learning environment.
• Supervise playground activities without engaging in the play.
• Maintain accurate daily attendance records.
• Plan on-site and off-site events; supervise monthly field trips.
• Prepare educational/enrichment lesson plans and STEM projects.
• Adhere to workplace safety guidelines.
