Job summary

PATH is seeking a dedicated After School Program Tutor for the Family Commons site in Long Beach, CA to support elementary students with homework, enrichment activities and a positive learning environment. You will work with the SHS team to help students overcome barriers and stay engaged in after-school programs.

The role is part-time, non-exempt, with a 2:30pm–6:30pm schedule on weekdays and some Saturdays, plus driving responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate activities with a group of up to twenty students.
• Assist students with homework, academic enrichment, recreation, and various arts-based programming.
• Supervise all participants to ensure a safe learning environment and organized program.
• Supervise playground activities without engaging in the play.
• Maintain accurate daily attendance records.
• Assist with the planning of on-site and off-site events.
• Supervise a monthly field trip on weekend.
• Prepare educational/enrichment lesson plans according to established deadlines.
• Develop and implement small group enrichment activities, sports clubs or STEM projects.
• Adhere to workplace safety guidelines.
