Job summary

Bay Area Community Resources (BACR) is hiring for an after-school program staff role in California. You will facilitate academic and enrichment activities for TK–12 students, supervise groups up to 22 youths, and foster a safe, engaging learning environment.

Must have an associate degree or equivalent, pass background/TB checks, and complete mandated trainings. You will work 30 hours weekly, with some summer/intersession shifts, and earn $23.50–$25 per hour depending on funding and experience.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher or 48 college units or pass Instructional Aide exam.
• Must pass criminal background check and TB test clearance.
• Available for after-school hours through mid-June; some summer/intersession work.
• Experience with TK/K youth and ability to supervise up to 22 students during activities.
• Able to communicate openly, professionally, and maintain confidentiality.
• Basic technology skills (Word, Email, Workvivo, Workday, Google Drive).
• Must complete mandated trainings (Mandated Reporter, etc.).
• Able to lift up to 25 pounds; stand and walk for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate engaging academic, enrichment, recreation, and SEL activities for K–12 students
• Build positive, supportive relationships that foster student belonging, confidence, and engagement
• Support student behavior using restorative, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive practices
• Provide homework assistance and adapt activities to meet diverse learning needs and abilities
• Create a safe, inclusive, welcoming environment for students of all backgrounds
• Supervise and engage groups of up to 22 youth during indoor and outdoor activities
• Collaborate with program staff, school personnel, and families to support student success
• Maintain accurate attendance, incident reports, and other required program documentation
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development, coaching, trainings
• Represent BACR professionally in communication, appearance, and conduct
