Job summary

Bay Area Community Resources (BACR) seeks an energetic after-school program aide to engage K–12 students in academic and enrichment activities.

You will supervise up to 22 youths daily, build supportive relationships, and use restorative approaches to guide behavior.

The role requires an associate degree or 48 college units, background check clearance, and the ability to lift 25 lbs; training provided.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher, or 48 college units, or pass the Instructional Aide exam.
• Criminal background check and TB clearance required.
• Available for after-school hours through mid-June with possible summer/intersession.
• Experience with TK/K youth and ability to supervise up to 22 students.
• Must communicate openly, professionally, and maintain confidentiality.
• Basic technology skills: Word, Email, Workvivo, Workday, Google Drive.
• Must complete mandated trainings (Mandated Reporter, Sexual Harassment, SEL PQA).
• Able to lift up to 25 lbs and stand/move for extended periods.
• English communication with students and families.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate engaging academic, enrichment, recreation, and SEL activities for K–12 students.
• Build positive, supportive relationships that foster belonging and engagement.
• Support student behavior using restorative, trauma-informed approaches.
• Provide homework help and adapt activities for diverse learning needs.
• Create a safe, inclusive environment for all backgrounds.
• Supervise and actively engage groups of up to 22 youth during activities.
• Collaborate with program staff, school personnel, and families to support student success.
• Maintain attendance, incident reports, and required documentation.
• Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and coaching.
