Job summary

YMCA of Metropolitan Washington is seeking an After School Program Leader for School Age Programs at KIPP DC locations. This part-time role supports before/after school activities and works with the Site Director to implement engaging activities.

You will supervise daily activities, maintain safety, and communicate with families. Requirements include 18+ years, HS diploma, CDA within 18 months, CPR/First Aid, and background checks.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old with a HS Diploma or GED.
• Ability to obtain a CDA within 18 months of employment.
• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Documentation of physical exam and TB test.
• Ability to pass required background screenings.
• Positive, creative attitude and ability to relate to children and families.

Responsibilities

• Assist with oversight of daily program activities and communication with families.
• Support and deliver age-appropriate lesson plans.
• Establish structure, routines, and behavior expectations for children.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants, including emergency procedures.
• Communicate routinely and professionally with parents and families.
• Participate in events and family engagement activities throughout the year.
