Job summary

Sunnyside Community Services in New York is seeking a Program Coordinator to support the daily operations of the P.S. 199Q Elementary After-School Program.

Reporting to the Program Director, you will help implement high‑quality programming, ensure DYCD/21CCLC/SED compliance, support staff development, and foster a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment for students and families. Qualifications

• Minimum of two years in elementary after-school or youth development.
• Experience supervising or mentoring staff preferred.
• Knowledge of positive youth development principles and classroom management.
• Strong organizational, communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
• Ability to multitask and collaborate in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Support daily operation of the after-school program to ensure a safe, organized environment.
• Assist with implementation and improvement of high-quality academic, enrichment, recreation, and SEL programming.
• Maintain classrooms, common areas, and materials per safety standards.
• Assist with student arrival, dismissal, transitions, and program logistics.
• Assist with onboarding, training, and mentoring new staff and interns.
• Model best practices in youth development, family engagement, and restorative approaches.
