Job summary

KIPP NYC is seeking an After School Director for a full-time, in-person role in New York City. You will lead a middle school after-school program, recruit and develop staff, and partner with school leadership and families to extend academic and social-emotional learning beyond the school day.

You will oversee operations, ensure compliance, manage budgets, and drive continuous improvement while maintaining a joyful program culture across Bronx, Brooklyn, or Manhattan campuses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education or related field.
• Minimum 3–4 years of experience with school-age children in educational or youth development settings.
• At least 1 year of supervisory experience in after-school or related programs.
• Experience developing, managing, and evaluating programs with measurable goals.

Responsibilities

• Lead after-school programming aligned with school priorities and student needs.
• Recruit, hire, onboard, and develop after-school staff; supervise and evaluate performance.
• Partner with school leaders and families to strengthen family engagement and community partnerships.
• Lead student recruitment and retention to meet enrollment targets; monitor attendance and engagement.
• Ensure compliance with DOH, DYCD, OCFS, and organizational requirements; manage records and reporting.
• Manage site budgets and resources; coordinate with Finance Team on spending.
• Engage stakeholders and represent KIPP NYC to the broader community.
