Job summary

KIPP NYC is seeking an After School Director for a full-time, on-site role across our NYC campuses. You will lead a high-quality after-school program, recruit and develop staff, and partner with school leadership to align with academic priorities.<\/p>

You will oversee budgets, youth development, and family engagement while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. This is a demanding, impact-focused leadership role designed for equity and student success.<\/p>

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Child Development, Recreation, Social Work, Youth Development, or a related field.
• Minimum 3–4 years of experience with school-age children in related settings.
• At least one year of supervisory experience in after-school or related programs.
• Knowledge of DYCD/DOH/OCFS regulations preferred.
• Strong leadership, planning, and data-driven decision making.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a high-quality after-school program across NY campuses.
• Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate staff; provide ongoing coaching.
• Coordinate with school leadership and families to align with school-day priorities.
• Oversee recruitment, participation, and retention; monitor attendance trends.
• Ensure compliance with DOH, DYCD, OCFS, and organizational requirements.
• Manage budgets and reporting; collaborate with Finance on resource use.
