Job summary

Urbana School District #116 at Urbana 6th Grade Center seeks After School Programming Support Staff to assist with small-group instruction and reteaching in the after-school program. Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree or 60 hours of college credit required.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answer questions and provide reteach of information to students participating in the program.
• Actively participate in the program, contribute to daily instruction, and complete all assigned tasks.
• Initiate and encourage students attending the program. Maintain a positive relationship with the students and staff working in the program.
• Ask for guidance and assistance from the teacher and/or coordinator when unable to assist a student.
• Monitor and supervise the students within assigned areas of the school.
• Support positive approaches for dealing with student behavior.
• Utilize de-escalation strategies when needed.
• Arrive and depart on time for your scheduled work.
• Work with small groups on skill-building activities
• Perform other specialized duties as assigned.
