Job summary

Urbana School District #116 is seeking an SPLASHUMS After School Teacher for Urbana Middle School. The program supports academics and enrichment through structured after-school activities.

Position is hourly, three days per week, with start date August 10, 2026. Prior classroom experience is preferred; internal applicants encouraged. Licenses and endorsements as required. Salary is $32/hour and contingent on grant funding.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with certifications and endorsements as applicable.
• Illinois Teaching License with the appropriate endorsement.
• Experience in after-school programs preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare lesson plans and implement developmentally appropriate activities.
• Create a welcoming classroom environment for all students.
• Plan routines, schedules, and behavior expectations.
• Organize indoor/outdoor activities including field trips and STEM experiments.
• Monitor student progress and document performance and attendance.
• Communicate regularly with parents and support school-family events.
