Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (standard or approved through GED testing).
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a school-based aftercare program.
• Must have completed BASCC Components I and II (certified teachers exempt from component training).
• At least 10 hours of BASCC training per year.
• CPR/First Aid certification required and maintained.
• Computer skills are required as needed for the position.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• My Florida/My Florida modules SNP-10 hours, UDAP-5 hours, SAP-5 hours training completed (or equivalent).
• CPR/First Aid certification is required for the position and must be maintained.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to Before and After School Child Care Quality Standards.
• Directly supervise and facilitate activities to provide safe experiences for children.
• Set and maintain standards for child behavior using non-punitive methods.
• Provide direct supervision of play areas to ensure safety and quality.
• Plan and evaluate activities and scheduling for children.
• Procure equipment and assist in cleanup of supplies for activities.
• Assist in reporting student incidents to appropriate personnel.
• Provide input on needed program supplies and materials.
• Maintain cooperative relationships with staff and interact positively with parents.
• Follow School Board policies and safety rules.
