Job summary

YMCA of Greater Providence seeks a Site Coordinator to manage the daily operation of the After School Program in Barrington, RI, ensuring the safety and well-being of enrolled children and direct supervision of program staff.

The role oversees development, administration, supervision, delivery and evaluation of a quality program in line with YMCA guidelines and state licensing, while promoting inclusion and equity.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Strong oral, auditory and written communication skills for interacting with children and adults.
• Positive role model with leadership, conflict resolution and diplomacy skills.
• Able to direct daily administrative, programmatic, and supervisory responsibilities of the Before & After School Program.
• Certifications required before working with children: Child Abuse Prevention Training, New Employee Orientation, RI DHS and MA EEC requirements.
• Within 60 days: CPR, First Aid, AED, Emergency Oxygen; respond effectively to safety and emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Plan, supervise and implement a high-quality, age-appropriate program for school-age children.
• Develop and supervise activities during school vacations and days off.
• Collect data on participants growth, including SEL assessments and program metrics.
• Provide guidance to site staff, aid in staff training, and evaluate performance with Program Director.
• Promote inclusion and equity among all participants.
• Set and maintain appropriate limits for children using positive reinforcement.
