Job summary

Right At School is hiring a Program Manager in New York to lead after-school programs with a focus on safety, engagement, and client relations. The role covers morning and afternoon shifts, and may run up to 25 hours per week.

Ideal candidates bring experience with children, ability to manage competing priorities, and familiarity with policy and documentation. Compensation is hourly, with benefits and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Experience balancing competing priorities while delivering quality service.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience with children and knowledge of special needs.
• Coursework or training in child development or related field.
• Strong communication—oral, written, and visual—with adults and children.
• Ability to model professional standards with students, parents, staff, and community.
• Familiarity with Google technology software or willingness to learn.
• 18+ years of age.
• Identify and submit proof of MMR.

Responsibilities

• Safety & Joy: model qualities ensuring safety and joy standards; support staff with clear roles and responsibilities; keep documents and licensing up to date; outline attendance, behavior, safety procedures; coach staff to maintain cohesion and productivity.
• Safety Assurance: support and report on safety protocols for participant well-being.
• Effective Communication: engage with families, partners, peers, and children; respond to inquiries during program hours; collaborate with Area Manager.
• Documentation and Compliance: maintain accurate student check-in/out records; ensure attendance procedures are followed.
• Daily Routine: implement daily activities, fitness, and curriculum in a safe, engaging environment.
