Job summary

Think Together seeks a Part-Time Substitute Program Leader in the Oxnard area to provide homework help, enrichment, and physical activity across sites. You will foster belonging, supervise behavior, and implement lesson plans with safety and consistency.

The role requires experience with children, a high school diploma or GED, 48 college units or equivalent, and strong English skills. Schedule is ~1:00 PM–6:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young children and the ability to inspire and motivate.
• Proof of graduation from High School or GED required.
• 48 college sem./60 college qtr units required or passing an Instructional Aide Test (where applicable).
• Ability to speak and write standard English appropriate in a public school setting.
• Availability at least 5 days a week (Mon–Fri).
• Program times roughly 1:00 PM–6:00 PM (times may vary).

Responsibilities

• Provide homework assistance, academic enrichment and physical activity using curriculum provided.
• Create an engaging environment fostering belonging.
• Support students in making positive behavior choices and take disciplinary measures when appropriate.
• Engage children by following and assisting in lesson plans.
• Ensure student safety by assisting in setup, maintenance and site cleanliness.
• Promote positive interactions between volunteers and students per child safety guidelines.
• Maintain student safety by taking roll and reviewing sign-in/sign-outs.
• Identify student needs and communicate to Site Coordinator, teachers and volunteers.
• Commit to a full-year program with punctuality and accurate time cards.
• Participate in staff development activities.
