Job summary

YMCA in Oklahoma City is seeking Jr. Program staff to help supervise a safe, well-organized child care program and plan engaging activities for groups of 10-15 children after school and on non-school days.

You will lead games, take attendance, assist with snacks or meals, and report any injuries to the site coordinator. This role requires enthusiasm for working with kids and adherence to YMCA guidelines.

Qualifications

• Must stay current in CPR/AED/O2 and First Aid, renewed annually.
• Must complete all required annual compliance trainings within 30 days of hire and renewed annually.
• Must have an interest in and like children and exemplify YMCA philosophy.
• Must attend all scheduled YMCA trainings.
• Must uphold YMCA appearance guidelines.
• Must be 18 years of age, have a high school diploma or GED.
• Jr. Program staff may be 16-17 yrs of age.

Responsibilities

• Assist with supervising a safe and well-organized child care program by planning and participating in-group activities.
• Establish a positive relationship with program participants.
• Plan weekly activities for a group of 10-15 children.
• Ensure the safety and well being of all children.
• Lead games and activities and take daily attendance.
• Prepare and distribute snacks/meals as needed and report injuries to the site coordinator.
• Attend staff meetings and training sessions and develop relationships with school staff.
• Display YMCA values and build relationships with members, donors and volunteers.
