Job summary

Easter Seals is seeking an After School Care Provider to create a safe, engaging environment for school‑aged children after school. You will supervise, assist with homework, run activities, and ensure DECAL compliance while following CACFP guidelines.

Role is part-time and hourly, with no health benefits. The ideal candidate has 1+ year of licensed childcare experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain it.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 and meet BFTS staff qualification requirements for school-age care.
• High school diploma or equivalent; CDA/TC C coursework preferred.
• At least 1 year experience with children in licensed program.
• Background check and fingerprinting through DECAL/BFTS required.
• CPR and First Aid certification required or willingness to obtain.
• Ability to relate to children and families with warmth and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Provide active supervision of children in all areas per standards.
• Develop and implement activities promoting development.
• Maintain attendance records and follow pick-up procedures.
• Serve snacks per CACFP and policies.
• Assist with homework, reading, or enrichment activities as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment compliant with regulations.
• Report injuries or incidents and document them accordingly.
• Communicate with parents and staff in a professional manner.
• Attend required staff meetings and trainings; follow handbook policies.
