Job summary

LEARN seeks a Site Coordinator to oversee an after-school program at a single elementary school (TK-8th) in El Monte, CA, promoting a culture of learning by providing students with knowledge, skills, and resources for academic and personal success.

Under supervision, you will train and evaluate staff, work with school admins, parents, and students, and ensure programming meets district and grant requirements while aligning with the school day.”

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or four years of experience working with youth in an educational setting.
• Experience supervising staff is highly desirable.
• Ability to communicate and work effectively with students, parents, school staff and other stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day programming at a designated LEARN partner school.
• Develop relationships with school administration, faculty, staff, parents and students.
• Plan and coordinate programming with input from school administration, ASB students, teachers, parents, counselors, and Title I Coordinators via a program Advisory Board.
• Develop staffing plan to implement programming.
• Supervise Youth Leaders including performance monitoring and evaluation, recommendations for hiring, and input to staff disciplinary decisions.
• Monitor expenses on a regular basis to ensure that the program costs remain within the program budget.
• Regularly meet with teachers, principals, and other instructional-day staff to align after school activities with the students’ curriculum.
• Ensure that student attendance is accurately recorded and reported and meets program plan goals and grant guidelines.
