Job summary

Cherry Creek Careers is seeking a Before and After School Leader to assist the program director in planning and implementing the child care program and to promote strong community relations among school families.

The role supports quality programming, safety, and effective communication with parents and staff, with opportunities to contribute to daily activities and monthly professional development.

Qualifications

• Criminal background check and fingerprinting required.
• Leader must be age 18 or over.
• Must have at least three months (455 hours) of verified experience supervising children over the ages of four.
• A current early childhood credential level I or higher (version 3.0) as determined by the Department based on its Early Childhood Professional Credential 3.0 Worksheet
• At least 15 clock hours of training per year (June 1 through May 31).
• Knowledge of most aspects of childcare.
• Ability to develop and utilize appropriate discipline procedures.
• Leadership and management skills.
• Ability to make appropriate decisions and solve problems effectively.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Current CPR/First Aid Certification or ability to obtain within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Follows and enforces all Colorado Department of Early Childhood licensing requirements. Frequency: Daily.
• Works directly and actively supervises and engages with students during times they are present in the program. Frequency: Daily.
• Exhibits excellent communication with parents, students, school staff, district staff and co-workers. Frequency: Daily.
• Maintains safe conditions for all students and staff. Frequency: Daily.
• Promotes and markets the program for before and after care and full days. Frequency: Daily.
• Attend and participate in professional development trainings as required by licensing and district. Frequency: Daily.
• Assists to implement quality lesson plans for every day the program is in operation. May assist in creating lesson plans. Frequency: Monthly.
• Assists with maintenance, proper storage, and repair of equipment and supplies. Frequency: Monthly.
• Contributes ideas for enrichment activities, projects and program quality. Frequency: Monthly.
• Creates and implements activities and field trips for full day programming. Frequency: Monthly.
• Attend monthly program staff meetings as required by director. Frequency: Monthly.
• Perform other duties as assigned or requested. Frequency: Daily.
