Job summary

Salt Lake City School District seeks an After School Group Leader to supervise and support students in after-school programs. You will mentor, monitor, and ensure the district's activities are carried out in a safe, fair, and equitable manner.

Hours are typically 2:00 p.m.–6:00 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 12:30 p.m.–6:00 p.m. on Fridays, with an hourly starting wage of $18.00. This is a part-time, non-contract position with non-exempt status and hourly work calendar.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Utah Health Department food handler permit or ability to obtain before start date.
• CPR/First Aid certification required or obtainable prior to start date.
• Annual Health Services Training must be completed.

Responsibilities

• Assist students in educational, social enrichment, and recreational activities.
• Receive and release students safely to parents or designee.
• Plan and facilitate age-appropriate activities for various settings.
• Communicate with students in a positive, patient manner.
• Provide homework help and promote good study habits.
• Support site coordinator with program goals and record-keeping.
• Ensure safety and maintain a clean, sanitary environment.
• Perform confidential and non-confidential administrative tasks as needed.
• Attend trainings to build skills and ensure program quality.
• Collaborate with team and other departments to fulfill responsibilities.
