Job summary

Great Hearts Academies in Arizona seeks an After-School Program Assistant to support the Co-Curricular Programs at the Academy. You will supervise students, assist with homework, and help deliver the classical curriculum under the supervision of a Lead Teacher or Campus Coordinator.

The position is part-time, seasonal, non-exempt, and non-benefited, with approximately 15–20 hours per week, Monday through Friday after dismissal until 6:00 p.m.

Qualifications

• The successful candidate will be a principled, professional leader with an independent work ethic and a heart of service to others.
• They must demonstrate sound business judgment and wisdom in dealing with people.
• Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise up to 20 students in a classroom setting under the supervision of a qualified staff member per AZDHS.
• Facilitate homework, recess, and other activities.
• Present lessons from provided classical curriculum.
• Utilize appropriate child guidance and classroom management strategies.
• Model and instill Great Hearts 9 Core Virtues (responsibility, perseverance, integrity, honesty, courage, citizenship, humility, friendship, wisdom).
• Follow standard operating procedures to ensure high quality programs.
• Follow all licensing rules and regulations per AZDHS.
• Follow protocols for responding to and documenting student behavior and significant events.
• Escalate incident reports and significant events to supervisor.
• Substitute at another campus when needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
