Job summary

Great Hearts Academies seeks an After-School Lead Teacher for the Co-Curricular Programs. This part-time, seasonal position supervises students after school, delivers activities, and supports a robust classical curriculum.

The ideal candidate will show a professional leadership mindset, strong communication skills, and a dedication to safety and student well-being. Hours are approximately 15–20 per week, with school dismissal-to-6:00 p.m. coverage, Monday through Friday.

Qualifications

• Some college preferred but not required.
• Must meet qualifications forTeacher/Caregiver in accordance with Arizona Department of Health Services Bureau of Childcare licensing.
• Lead Teachers must have 3 months of experience in a qualifying setting or a degree in education/related field.

Responsibilities

• Supervise up to 20 students in a classroom setting.
• Facilitate homework, recess, and other activities.
• Present lessons from provided classical curriculum.
• Utilize appropriate child guidance and classroom management strategies.
• Model and instill Great Hearts 9 Core Virtues (responsibility, perseverance, integrity, honesty, courage, citizenship, humility, friendship, wisdom).
• Follow standard operating procedures to ensure high quality programs.
• Follow all licensing rules and regulations per AZDHS.
• Follow protocols for responding to and documenting student behavior and significant events.
• Escalate incident reports and significant events to supervisor.
• Substitute at another campus when needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
