Job summary

Aspire Education's Community Reading Buddies program is hiring a Part-time, on-site Assistant Program Coordinator to support sites in Oakland, Richmond, and San Pablo. The season runs January 18 through March 26, 2027, with twice-weekly after-school sessions.

Pay is $25 per hour, and there is a clear pathway to a Lead Coordinator role. Shadow a Lead Coordinator, assist with facilitation at in-person sites, track attendance, communicate with families, and perform light administrative tasks.

Qualifications

• Experience working with groups of children (teaching, tutoring, camp counseling, or similar)
• Reliable commute to the program sites
• Ability to clear a LiveScan background check, TB test, and finish mandated reporter training (training provided and cost reimbursed)

Responsibilities

• Shadow a Lead Coordinator and assist with in-person site facilitation
• Track attendance and keep program records
• Communicate with families
• Handle light administrative tasks
